アイドル serves as opening theme for anime series Oshi no Ko【推しの子】.

Comes in a 7” gatefold sleeve, with lyrics for tracks A1 and A2 printed in the inner gatefold in their respective languages. Includes an obi strip with both color scheme and text differing from earlier CD version [r27395040. Includes a bunny-shaped insert with the release’s tracklisting and a fold-out poster featuring the single artwork on one side and short novel "45510" on the other, written by original series writer Aka Akasaka. The disc itself comes in a round inner sleeve. Packaged in a resealable sleeve with a custom lightstick-shaped hype sticker.

Early purchase bonuses for this release are a Megajacket print when purchased from Amazon.co.jp, and a sticker of the release cover (depicted with the mint green obi) when purchased from other retailers.

Runouts are etched except "3" is stamped.
